EXS as a standalone but within Logic??

Hello Logicians,

Can i use the EXS 24 as a sampler triggered from another host on a seperate PC?

ie. through a midi interface?

You would set it up the same way you would with a MIDI Controller keyboard. Except this time one PC is the controller (Master computer) and the other is the synth (Slave computer).

 

There's really nothing to it, the slave is going to play the selected track, or up to 16 different MIDI Channels without cabling (using auto demix by channel). If you need more then there is some setup involved in the environment.

 

Instead of using MIDI Interfaces, you can transmit MIDI over LAN which is faster. I use Music Lab's MIDI Over LAN cp, but you can use Tiger's MIDI over LAN too (it's free).
