ben_perkins
Hey all. I'm just about ready to take my Level 2 Cert exam on Saturday, but I was confused a bit about scultpure exciters and disturbers. Would you classify a disturber as an exciter when given the question, "Does object 2 have more exciters than object 1?" Any light on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! David Nahmani
No, exciters and disturbers are different. Where have you seen that question? I hope they don't put such a question in the test (never seen it)? Object 2 has one more exciter than Object 1: External (sidechain).
ben_perkins
Thanks for the quick response, David. I saw that question on a quiz in the Logic Lvl 2 Class I'm taking. I was thinking they were separate, although some were certain that disturbers excited the string after the initial exciter. It got really confusing. I'm really glad to get that cleared up before the test.
David Nahmani
Disturbers can excite the strings, but they're still called disturbers. Disturbers have different qualities than exciters. For example, disturbers are never velocity-sensitive.
ben_perkins
Okay, so for the cert exam, an exciter is and exciter and a disturber is a disturber. They won't try and trick me with that will they?
David Nahmani
I've never seen a question about exciters / disturbers on a level 2 certification exam, so I don't think they'll trick you on that.
