Bouncing to AAC crashes the session!!!!

Hi all. I'm new here, so be gentle with me.

 

Has anyone else encountered problems trying to bounce to AAC?

 

All other bounce formats seem to be working fine for me, but when I select AAC I hear that 'error' beep - the one that chimes in when you've hit an incorrect key and confused OS X. That sound is heard when you select any of the AAC encoding options too.

 

It starts to bounce and looks like it's going to work, and then it stalls and crashes Logic! When I first installed Logic it was fine, so I reinstalled hoping that would resolve it, but no such luck.

 

...I'm perplexed.

 

Any help would be fantastic!!!!
