drumbug1
Step 1) Buy HP D530 desktop PC from eBay for £120. P4 3.06Ghz, 512Mb ram, 40GB HD.Step 2) Download OSX86 v 10.4.9 from nefarious site on web. Step 3) Install on said PC. Step 4) Patch network driver so Gigabit interface becomes active. Step 5) Install Logic node and connect to Mac Mini via crossover cable or gigabit switch. Step 6) Start using said PC to take CPU load from Logic on Mac. Step 7) Do Irish jig in living room. Clever! ... against the EULA- but it's clever! drumbug1
You're right - afaik that would be totally "legit". The problem with that is that the AppleTV is fairly under-powered. I don't have specs off the top of my head and I don't have time to look now (at work) - But I want to say it's a 1.0GHz processor with 128 (maybe 256) MB RAM. ....I guess if you had a bunch of them it would be a cheap (quasi-legit) way to go for extra nodes.... but then you have to start asking how much money you'd be saving over an additional Mac Pro (or whatever). ...either way - you still get my thumbs up for the week for usin' your noggin'! drumbug1
Just 'cause it was going to bug me: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-entertainment/appletvs-specs-not-that-impressive-228814.php Looks like it's a 1.0GHz Pentium M with 256MB RAM....
