leeguirado
There is a crackling sound coming out of my monitors when i play this one region in my track, i have tried altering the EQ but it still crackles. It is not like i am playing it loud either and just happens with this one instrument i am using. Any ideas what can cause this crackling? triplets
Is it audio or midi region?

triplets
Crackling can be a buffer issue when using heavy software instruments. Try raising the I/O buffer in Logic's preferences for mixing.
leeguirado
ok thank you ill try that
leeguirado
just a thought, mine is set at 64 at the moment. I dont know much about buffer size and stuff. If i change this now will it affect my track?
triplets
64 buffer is low and perfect for recording. But it can give you crackles and CPU overloads when mixing. Raise the buffer if you're not recording on the session anymore.
leeguirado
Ok i will do that, I dont record anything externally so think i will change it to
triplets
Ok i will do that, I dont record anything externally so think i will change it to 128 If you're recording midi, the same applies: The higher the buffer, the higher the latency when you hit a note on your controller. If you step write in midi then it doesn't matter. A higher buffer will probably be better for the computer.
