Scott Jackson
It's low on the list. Seen the news lately? It's not low on my list. I see the news everyday. Most of what they're pushing (sensationalizing) doesn't concern or effect me but I've become a bit dependent on my computers for certain things. BCProject
Apple has been steadily reducing the amount of end-user customization available in their computers for 10+ years. Having the hood finally welded shut on the Mac Mini is a bummer but hardly shocking.
Scott Jackson
Having the hood finally welded shut on the Mac Mini is a bummer but hardly shocking. The problem is that the Mac Pro and now the Mini is a sign of a new trend. No it's not shocking, that's the point of my Subject line. Apple is notoriously over priced on RAM and now you have no choice, if you want more RAM than the base model has, you have to buy it from Apple. This is obviously a ploy to generate more profit and of course it's at our expense as usual.
PGMM
I had hopes for a new faster better Mini. But no way am I going to by one of these. It's a Hackintosh next - and if that's to complicated, Windows and Cubase.

Plowman
This will strengthen the resale value of older Mac Minis. And a less informed subset of people -- non-Logic types -- will let their small, single disk-drive, small RAM 2011 - 2012 Mac Mini units go not realizing their upgrade potential.
