el-bo
very bizarre but what's with all the icons ??? (you must be missing using windows xp ) and get that beer away from the shiny mbp.....don't want to be reading your next post "brew killed my music" peace
erfmufn
Heh, no not XP (egads) .. but i like working in the "inverted" mode as white text on black is easier to read. There are some quirks ie I wish it didn't invert photos.. but to see what I mean try -> Control+Option+Apple+
David Nahmani
I like the transparent monitor. Cool effect!
el-bo
that comand, apple 8 thing is f***in' freaky.......anyone know of any more good tricks here's one if you don't already know...it may only be intel macbook/pros cos of the 2-fingered trackpad scroll......but: press and hold control and use 2 fingers on the trackpad (upwards motion) to zoom like you've never zoomed before...then release ctrl key and use trackpad to scroll around the magnification....great on high res photos.............use 2 finger downward movement (with ctrl held) to zoom back out wooohooo !!! zzzzoooooooom zzzzooooooom !!!! erfmufn
Heh yeh I like that one.. although I don't use it much. Not sure about other "tips" but maybe you'd be interested in the unix shell script I hacked together. Basically it takes a photo every time I open my MBP and ftp's it to my website gallery the next time it wakes with an internet connection. Its and "anti theft" measure thats been going from summer to winter (latest pics up top) which has left me with a scary amount of incredibly awful photos of myself, usually looking tired as hell. http://www.deography.com/record/ http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.tuaw.com/media/2007/01/smileyourlaptop.jpg
el-bo
what a great idea but you never smile.....you are obviously not as overjoyed as me when i open my sexy machine for a logic sesh.... some of these photos even show you making music in your sleep peace be with you and yours
simonphoenix
Be careful not to smash your hand through your transparent display as you reach to pull out your dongle!!! Low flying birds may also find your desktop a nasty surprise too!!!! Though I hear Wonder Woman's got one of these too!!
David Nahmani
I think the next step would be to have an animated desktop background, and make a movie where you actually pick up the beer with your hand and place it behind the screen. Now THAT would be impressive!!
simonphoenix
Pity he didn't come up with the idea any earlier... he could have tried to leak it to Microsoft that this WAS the new Mac Desktop!!! I'd just love to see Gates coming up with something to try and tackle it... A transparent mousepad maybe....LOL
