matkatamibakundo
Here's a chart that I was commissioned to write for a concert by the ACJE, which was recorded in 24-track. The recording engineers allowed me to download all 24 tracks so I could try mixing it on my own. Mixed in Logic 7.2 on a MBP 3gb RAM. I Luvs Me Some Cheeze i still don't like the sound of the bass drum, any ideas on how to eq it so it sounds better?
erfmufn
What a cool assignment. Great recording to play with , I think it sounds great. Not sure what I'd suggest about kick.. maybe a teensy touch more high/treb ? Everything else sounds great.
xs4is
Amazing. Simply amazing. What don't you like about the bass drum? X
Waterboy
IMHO - I think this is a good recording & great tune to boot! As for the bass drum - my personal take is that it fits with the style if the tune. I wouldn't change much - if anything at all! Good job & thank you for sharing with us! matkatamibakundo
Hey, guys. sorry for the delayed response. I was in alaska on a family reunion cruise. Anyway. Uh, the bass drum doesn't sound like a bass drum. too much pitch to the sound, not enough umph, you know? you hear it as a specific tone, not as a thump, I guess. I'm not sure how to change the EQ/compression to correct that. Thanks for the kind words about the piece, guys. It was fun to write. chuck
