burns_joe
After hearing loads of house remixes in clubs of old songs, I started having my own ideas. My post poses this question: I was wondering if it is possible to fully extract the vocals from a track that has already been made. For example, could I import the song, 'Imagine' by the Beatles from a CD, and then delete the main song, but just keep the vocals, allowing me to play around with the words etc. Apologies if I'm being stupid but I have only played around on Logic a little while. medusaproductions
you can I suggest searching this forum for that topic as there is a really good thread on here suggesting ways to do that. Dave
burns_joe
hi cheers, I've just spent a while trawling through the forum and searching multiple keywords. Unfortunately so far I'm not having any luck, what keywords do you suggest I type in (I'm no sound engineer!) ? many thanks

stevecowley
Hmmmm, I thought it was possible to use that phase reversal trick to REMOVE the vocals, ie. leave pretty much everything else, but not to keep the vocals and get rid of everything else. Ashermusic
Ignore, I was wrong. Edited June 13, 2007 by Ashermusic
medusaproductions
in that same topic dave explains how to remove the vocals from the mix. Basically you take the removed vocals inverse their phase and then add that to your track that has vocals on it. (I think that is right)
