bandoh
Greetings. I am new to LogicPro and found myself in a bit of a pickle. I am recording a song that start at some tempo A and transitions to a different tempo B. I have tried to record this without a metronome help, but all have resulted in inconsistent BPM because I get to excited and speed up over the course of the recording. Is there a way in LogicPro that I can make the metronome starts at some initial BPM and transition to another BPM so I can follow it? I apologize if this topic have be discussed before. Please point me to the discussion tread if that is the case. Thank you.
Trevor.T.
Not sure if this is what you mean but here's a video that illustrates how to change the tempo within a track. And the link to Apple Support on this topic: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH13220 Let us know if these help.
bandoh
First, thank you very much for your help and quick response. Much grateful. I did see this video, but I got the impression and the understanding that this is how you would change the tempo of after you have recorded the track unless I misunderstood it. Can you actually apply this to the metronome before laying down the first instrument?
David Nahmani
You can create your tempo curve in the Global tempo track before laying down the first instrument, yes. There is an exercise on how to create a tempo ramp like the in my book! But basically to get you started: 1. Open Global Tracks: 2. Click to create a Tempo Point: 3. Drag to move the Tempo Point: 4. Drag the blue point to change the Tempo Curve:
Trevor.T.
Can you actually apply this to the metronome before laying down the first instrument? I would have just said, "yes", but David Nahmani's response gives you the whole enchilada. BTW - His book "Logic Pro X, Professional Music Production" is an excellent resource!
