Ah, answered my own question. It was imported data from a formerly used midi controller. In this case imported from an old, project. I'll leave the post up in case someone else stumbles across the issue!

I can't get the Studio Alto 1 Sax volume in the instrument controls panel to stay where I want it. The rest of the studio horn saxes in the arrangement are on -6 dB and stay there, but the Alto 1 keeps defaulting to -25 dB. When I adjust its knob to -6 it immediately goes back to 25 as soon as I start playback. It only happens on that instrument. I've tried rebooting Logic and opening a new instance of Alto 1 but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks

Is it possible in the Articulation Set or maybe Events List to control exactly how short a staccato is as an articulation? I'm scoring a big band in Logic and the staccato is a little too classical i.e. a bit too clipped for detached quarter notes. I realise the duration can be achieved in the piano roll for playback but the score's articulations override it. Just wondered if I could have my cake and eat it too by having the score play exactly what I want! Thanks

Thanks David for advise. I've since reloaded the original midi files into a new iteration of the project and its all working fine. If it happens again I'll dig deeper.

I've got an arrangement using a sound library (Garritan JABB 3) via Garritan's ARIA player plugin and I've got some pitch bends won't return to pitch and the notes won't switch off. Weirdly, I recreate the situation a few bars before in the same track and it works fine. When I pasted the good version in where the bad was the problem persisted. Couple of screenshots show the two versions. The pitch bend on the right is the dodgy one. The event lists look the same to me. Any thoughts as to what's going on? Thanks

Hang on, Mastering Assistant doesn't crackle when applied to audio only. Ah, so it isn't supposed to work with midi? Honk if you agree!

I've seen this issue crop up on forums but I wondered if anyone else was currently having it too? Once MA has analysed a project the crackling is intense during playback and bouncing. The mix is simple processing-wise with hardly any individual track processing, sub-grouped to five stems, each bussed to separate reverb and delay auxs. I've tested large and small buffer sizes to no avail. Anyone heard any developments about the issue? Should I reboot Logic? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I see controls for pitch and note duration but has anyone found controls for the vertical and horizontal parameters that are supposed to be in the Event inspector? "Position items using the Event inspector Select the item or items you want to position graphically. 1 .Enter the value for the vertical position in the Vertical Pos.: field. A value of 0 means a position exactly on the top line of the staff, in most cases. Positive values are above, negative values below it. In staff styles with more than one staff, the Staff parameter determines the staff that the Vertical Position parameter refers to. 2. Enter the value for the horizontal position in the Horizontal Pos.: field. The value determines the horizontal offset of the object's bar position. A value of 0 corresponds to the left edge of a note, at that particular position."

At the top of p821 of the USer Guide the attached says: Position items using the Event inspector 1. Select the item or items you want to position graphically. [etc...] So where is the Event inspector?

In case it helps anyone else, I had a vocal loop that crackled during an accelerando (100 to 130 bpm over three bars). And turning on Flex time in the track solved it...that's another day I'll never get back!

I'm trying to install a new software instrument but the inspector pane is not revealing everything Please se screenshot. Has this happened to you and did you find a solution. If I start a new project the problem does not occur. But then the current project cannot be continued with it. Please see attachment
