Rolomoto
Does anyone know the unicode for a half dim symbol? I can get ø but it's not a superscript. I've spent some time on google chasing my tale but haven't found anything. Thanks
David Nahmani
I don't believe there's one. If this is for a website, then you can use the superscript HTML tag or use CSS to turn the symbol into a superscript.

ajedlen
Using David's HTML suggestion: with Option-O (opera) produces the superscripted half-diminshed symbol of the circle with a slash. A useful place to practice is the W3schools site: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_sup

Sunset
It´s an old one, I see. You can write 2 sizes: Option-O results into a smaller version Shift-Option-O is a fairly larger symbol which looks more familiar Edited September 23, 2023 by Byhxx
loukash
Those are actually basic characters with diacritics: ø = Latin Small Letter O With Stroke = U+00F8 Ø = Latin Capital Letter O With Stroke = U+00D8 Used mainly in Danish and Norwegian languages as the equivalent of ö and Ö = "O umlaut". Not to be confused with ∅ (Empty Set = U+2205) or ⌀ (Diameter Sign = U+2300). For diminished chords I usually take the ° character = Degree Sign = U+00B0. (On the Swiss keyboard layout it's also pretty handy on shift-§ which is just next to the "1" key.) (Disclosure 1: aside from music, I do graphic design and typography for a living) (Disclosure 2: my decades old logo/avatar is in fact based/inspired by the Ø character, after I was using the later as my logo for a while; hence my interest in this subject… :)
LittleDot
Loukash! I somehow have in mind, you can type in the Unicode itself to get a symbol. Is there a chance to do it?

I haven't tried yet, but unlikely as it's definitely outside its scope. But for instance Affinity Publisher which I'm using for page layout has a "Toggle Unicode" menu command. Other than that, you can always use the MacOS Character Viewer (Edit > Emoji & Symbols) and search for Unicode hex strings. Also a very useful app is UnicodeChecker which also adds a few advanced text commands to the global Services menu.
