benbobaggins
Same thing just happened to me. Running Logic 10.4 on Catalina (OS 10.15.3) on a late-2017 MBP (w/ touchbar). Just restarted Logic Pro and it worked fine. So weird.
venk.ivanov
What with that "Command not available because there are no undo steps." Anyone got a solution?
rogermp
I'm having the same problem. The shortcut "CMD + Z" stops working and the message "Command not available because there are no undo steps." I have an iMac 2011 and run MacOSX 10.13 (High Sierra).
Atlas007
Did you try opening your Undo History? Also there is a (recently added) feature in that Logic log function that toggles the inclusion of plugin editions. Not at the studio presently to verify same, but there might (also) be a related inadvertent keyboard shortcut command behind the issue... David Nahmani
What was the last action you performed before that happened?
raraavismusic
I'm having the same issue. Nothing I did caused the issue as far as I can tell. The normal undo steps that should be in my undo history are not there. It's as though Logic is only recording certain functions in the undo history such as copy/pasting channel strips... but any arrangement edits aren't making it into the history. I have 100 steps as a preference. Logic has full disk access in Sys Prefs. I'm using a brand new Apple Magic Keyboard, Logic Pro 10.5.
David Nahmani
The normal undo steps that should be in my undo history are not there. What was the last step you did that you wanted to undo?
raraavismusic
Remove section between locators... then I tried just cutting and dragging a region around on a single track... neither move registered in my undo history.
David Nahmani
That's odd, it works as expected here: Does it work as expected for you if you test it in a new project? If you try it again now in that specific project
ConstruktMedia
Logic "Undo not working" solved by turning on both "mixer" and "plug-in" buttons in the UNDO HISTORY pop-up.
SelinaY
I have the same issues ! The changes I've been making for the past 15 minutes don't show in the edit history- and no I can 'undo' my last changes ! Any solutions please ?
kingminotaur
Same thing just happened to me. Running Logic 10.4 on Catalina (OS 10.15.3) on a late-2017 MBP (w/ touchbar). Just restarted Logic Pro and it worked fine. So weird. Same thing wrong, same thing worked, thanks. List of undos seemed to be there ( not 100% sure) but the top menu choice in edit menu was greyed out. I restarted Logic and it seemed to work correctly again. polanoid
This happens reproducibly when you open the text field for renaming Markers and Track Alternatives using a triple click instead of a double click (a bug, obviously), so I‘d suggest avoiding triple clicks! raraavismusic
I've experienced this issue off and on in the past, and it just sprung up again. Restarting Logic returns the undo function to normal at least for some time until it happens (apparently) out of nowhere again. This worked for me as a solution... the only problem with this bug is that having to restart Logic erases your undo history... see the comment above mine for how to avoid triggering this bug. tblank97
For all of those who still have this problem, give this a try. Go to Logic pro>key commands>Presets> pro tools it will most likely delete any presets you made, but the undo button works. That’s all I care about. Apherx
I believe there is a glitch in Logic regarding the input and output devices. I faced this issue and happened to notice my inputs and outputs were linked to unused devices (zoomaudiodevice for me) and when I changed it to a proper audio device, I was able to undo again. Hope this helps, and some of you won't have to do drastic changes.
