maddoxocean
Hi, I know this is as pretty basic issue but I've tried using EQ but it didn't work (maybe I didn't do it right). I have this snare with tape delay and whenever I play it with this synth thats in a similar frequency it always sounds higher. I uploaded the small file below. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p2bxn4pilh4anc6/Song.m4a?dl=0 I'm guessing it is something to do with the EQ but maybe I'm wrong. Thanks
Atlas007
Or maybe some kind of phase cancellation? In such case some EQ works to be done also on the synth (and probably other tracks as well... (I didn't d/l nor auditioned your project... not at the studio presently)
David Nahmani
The snare sounds the same to me across the entire sample you shared.
fuzzfilth
The body of this snare is at 174Hz which is F, but the loud chipsynth coming in has its lowest partial at 185Hz which is F#. This pulls your perception of the quieter and shorter snare fundamental upwards. So the solution is to properly tune the snare to the song so its perceived pitch will stay fixed.
