Logic Pro's Drum Machine Designer - No Audio

Hey guys,

So a weird thing has just happened with Logic Pro 10, I was just using Logics drum machine designer  - went to delete a MIDI track and then start again, but when I was clicking any keys on my MIDI keyboard no sound was being produced.

Initially I thought it was an issue with my MIDI keyboard, but it works fine on every plug in other than the drum kit designer.

The troubleshooting I have ran is basic; restarting logic, restarted the computer, and checked the MIDI settings.

Here's the versions of Mac and Logic I'm on:

Mac: Mac OS Big Sur Version 11.1, iMac (21.5-inch, 2017), Processor: 2.3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz DDR4,

Logic: Version 10.7.1

Here's a link to a screen record I made of the issue, you'll notice in the top bar how Logic is picking up my the MIDI notes I press, but sound is not being produced on the DMD.

Appreciate any help!

For anyone with this issue in the future this was my fix:

(make sure you take screenshots of all your preferences & save any custom key commands before doing this):

Clearing Preferences:

  1. Quite all apps
  2. Open finder
  3. Hit “Go” in menu bar, hold down option and select library
  4. Go inside “Caches” and move the Logic folder to trash
  5. Go inside “Preferences” and move the two Logic preference files to trash
  6. Go inside “Saved Application State” and move all of them to trash
  7. restart computer
  8. empty trash
