Lush/Shimmer reverb with only stock plugins - sounds pretty good, actually

Recommended Posts

Today I was playing with the Tape Delay to see if a concept I had in my mind would work. It didn't, but I ended up creating this super lush reverb and so here it is for those interested in having something like this using only stock plugins:

Danny Wyatt - Lush:Shimmer Reverb (Stock Plugins).zip

The main "ingredient" here is the Tape Delay. The pitch shifter is an extra layer that can add some flavor, but even if you set it to 0 semi tones, you still get a pretty interesting reverb.

I just did a search on the forum here and I'm wondering if its impossible to save an AUX strip setting?

You sure can, the same way you save any other channel strip setting. Just click the button at the top that says Setting:

Then select:

I hope this is what you were looking for?

Excellent work Danny, and I just put it in my User cst folder. Bim!

We never have enough reverb, never!

(I've to confess I'm often a "reverb slut")

Thanks! Glad you liked it.

This kind of reverb is always a good tool, more of a creative reverb. And the good thing is that you can always go crazy and creative adding crazy effects before/after reverb units and see what happens. The sky is definitely NOT the limit!

Saved! And appropriately named!

Another use I started almost right away was selecting No Output on the instrument track to leave only the effect.

Thanks again.

Awesome! Glad you liked it. And yeah having just the effect must be interesting as well ;)

Sounds pretty good to me Danny. Definitely lush. Different pitchings gave interesting results too. Sounds very choir like.

Glad you like it and are experimenting with different settings. I love doing that too

In 3152 AD when ET archeologists will dig in our rusty old drives they'll ask who was this guy. 😀

You never know... ;)

When they ask there’ll be reverb on their voices!

And a ring modulator...

Well, let's try doing some kind of slippy humour in a foreign langage (for me):

- A ring modulator?

- No, Captain, it's worse, remember,  they're ET from outer space and they don't have ears so it's a cockring modulator!

- By Jove, we're doomed!

All my apologies for this attempt...
