user01
In Cubase Studio one and Pro tools, there is a Track List on the left and we can manage the channels from there. In logic, we want to see the track list on the left side of the inspector section.
Atlas007
Have you tried opening an event list editor window and placed it to the left as desired?
user01
This issue has nothing to do with the event list. Do you know what a track list is? have you seen it before?
Atlas007
Besides remotely selecting a track, or show/hide them, I don't actually see the point...
Rambird
I do see the point and this and the playlist feature (which is way better than in Logic IMO) is something that they could actually improve. But I think they should look at Cubase for this, because Cubase really expanded on this idea, like you can dock tracks to the left or right, create different "screen sets" etc.
Atlas007
Screensets already exist in Logic. One could create a switchboard to navigate between screensets (using meta events 49)… Besides, SC from AG already features interesting possibilities, using readily available Logic’s functions. user01
this is a very tiring and unnecessary way, I think producers can produce track lists if they want
Rambird
Yes I know I can create screensets, but look at one of Dom Sigalas Videos on the Cubase Mixer and you will get what I mean!
Rambird
But still that's interesting. Is there a thread on this forum about tools like that? Like software that adds "an additional layer" on top of logic?
user01
This feature is available in studio one click on the link Track List The Arrange view Track list is opened by clicking on the Track List icon in the upper left corner of the Song page. The Track list gives an overview of all existing Tracks. Each Track has a drop-down arrow that, when clicked, displays related Tracks, Envelopes, and Layers. link: https://s1manual.presonus.com/Content/Arranging_Topics/Track_List.htm

Yes but they all contain the same tracks, unless you start using region folders which are an old outdated concept (and can quickly become confusing). Imagine being able to have one screenset for your drums, another for your vocals, a third one for your strings etc.
Atlas007
I concede that with projects encompassing large tracks count this would indeed be useful. Otherwise, not so much, at least not in my workflow (but hey, I’m not the end of it right?)… 🤤

I know some professional orchestral composers who would absolutely love that feature to be able to quickly access their strings, horns, winds, percussions, special FX etc... at the push of a key.
user01
i think logic is already well-equipped to compete with Nuendo for the film score side, so it would be nice to get rid of such shortcomings immediately.

Here is my request including mockups I did nearly 10 years ago!!! and even older!
