afterthought
I'm new to automation. I have a track that has some EQ automation on it. I'm trying to add volume automation as well (slow volume rise) on the same track. For some reason I can't figure out how to do it. Whether I click volume on the main track or in the drop down menu, nothing seems to affect the volume of the track. I have no problem doing a volume automation on another track with no automation already on it, so I don't know why I can't figure this out. I've attached a screen shot. Thank you for any help. polanoid
The Volume (and Peak 1 Frequency) automation curves in your screenshot are muted (disabled). That's why they are drawn in grey. To re-enable them, hover the mouse pointer over the parameter menu button and click the appearing on/off button

It just looks like this.
scg
Not sure if this is the issue, but I'll just mention that you have to hover over the parameter menu to show the power button.

I've hovered all around the area and nothing is showing up. Do you know if there's a keyboard shortcut for that? Thanks
scg
Oops, sorry, I see that polanoid already mentioned the hovering thing. I'm not sure off the top of my head why it's not showing up for you.
Solution Atlas007 Posted March 13, 2023 Solution Share Posted March 13, 2023 Have you tried setting Logic in Advanced mode (Enable Complete Features)?

If I disable complete features, not only do I lose the on/off buttons, but some of my icons change to the ones in OP's screenshot. So it seems likely that's the issue.
afterthought
Yup that was it! Seems like something that should be on by default. Thanks everyone for your help. Edited March 13, 2023 by afterthought
