Twister
I'm aware that in order to copy midi notes with horizontal or vertical alignment I need to hold down option key while dragging and then press and release shift key to activate alignment. However, if I don't release the shift key before releasing mouse button, the midi data simply moves without copying. This is unintuitive, because the cursor has a green plus icon indicating that notes should be copied. I don't see any benefits from this behavior, so I propose that it would be changed so that notes will be copied even when the shift key is being held down upon mouse release.
Atlas007
I wonder if it could be related to the modifier-key (Shift vs Option vs mouse button) release(s) order?

That's what I said. If shift is not released before mouse button, the notes will not copy.

This is a bug, and it's inconsistent with the behavior when copying regions in the Tracks area.
