PaulTMA
Hi, I own a second-hand Macbook that contained Logic Pro X downloaded and paid for by the previous owner. This has been great for a few years, but I really want to update it, so I'm fine to proceed now and pay for it myself. The trouble is, in the app store, Logic is tied to the previous owner's Apple ID and I can't change it. From what I've read, I've understood that you need to delete the existing Logic first. The trouble is, I'm afraid to do this and lose all my plugins etc. Can anyone help here? Is there a safe way to make the purchase and re-download Logic, having paid, without losing anything? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sign out of the Apple Store (and any iCloud services from the other person), and sign in with your ID. In the App Store, Store menu -> Sign Out Deleting the Logic app will not uninstall your plugins. PaulTMA
Thanks. I've managed that now, except I'm having trouble with the plugins not being validated - there are a lot of them. Is there any quick method to get them to work again? However, I'm not even sure why you are having to validate them again, as updating your copy of Logic shouldn't have invalidated the plugin cache.
