Logic 10.8 Midi Overload issue

Since 10.8 I am unable to open and existing project without getting the rainbow wheel of death for 3-5 minutes and then getting a midi overload warning. 

I can open a new project and then open an existing and I do not have this issue. 

I have a new m2 mac, so hardware is good. 

Everything was fine before 10.8. 

I guess is there anyone out there with a fix? Otherwise i'll have to just wait for a bug fix.

Discussed a few times already on this forum. No fix, you found the workaround yourself, let's hope Apple fixes this soon.

Ok fair enough. I did search for this issue in a variety of ways before posting. Nothing came up for '10.8 midi overload'

That's probably because it's "timeout", not "overload" (two different things really)
