dkgross
very cool indeed. I'll download it and give it a shot..Got a project coming up that I could certainly need a little 'track notepad' for. I'll be glad to make a little shareware donation to help the cause!
pantomimeHorse
v2.1 passes AUVal in Logic 7.2.3 under 10.4.11. - Seems to run fine, here. My biros, pads and assorted bits of sticky paper may yet be rendered redundant ! ! - Well done, man, for identifying a glaring gap in Logic's content and filling it rather well. - Further refinement (if it can be done) might include making the text in the "" column able to wrap (and/or respond to "Return" key to create more than one line of "value" for each line of ""). Don't know how easy that would be because obviously this uses a simple XML plist as its store ? - I suggest (SERIOUSLY) that you market this as shareware through KVR Audio or Kagi, write a short, but decent, PDF manual, and start making the bucks you deserve ! ! - We will be your beta-men, but I really see no reason why you shouldn't have a best-selling piece of software on your hands. - C

Back on topic, I reckon mountainstorm could justifiably go for a $10 shareware deal with Kagi or KVR. The Notes plugin is absolutely the most useful bit of kit that's appeared in here for ages. - C
mountainstorm
thanks for all the positive feedback. Quite a few people have mentioned that I should make if shareware and make some cash ... whilst I must admit I'm tempted (I could buy new toys with the money Im of the opinion that if you pay for it you expect it to work, at the moment I don't want supporting it to suck up all my free time so I never get to record stuff. Thats said Im playing with ways of getting a Carbon GUI so it will work in more apps, its easy on OS 10.5 onwards but gets more difficult If I want to support 10.4. If I can get decent support in most DAW's I might make it shareware ... until then its free! I've also played with a spotlight plugin to index the metadata, but it needs a bit more work, I've been busy fencing the garden so haven't had time to so much on it Thanks again for your support ... I'll be in touch Rich P.S. I noticed someone (in another thread) asking how ppl kept notes and someone pointing them to this thread ... I was well chuffed

pierrefront
<<< 2. When I hit stop recording it jumps out of the folder region I'm in I can help for that one: Logic jumping out of folders is due to the window link options. There's a little icon on top right of arrange a some edit windows, representing a little chain. Deactivate it _ it has 2 levels of activations, so you might need to press it more than once. Do so for all opened windows on your screen set. Logic might then stop jumping to follow what he thinks you want to focus on.

EDDSkitz
Arse! I'll have to try installing Logic on my 10.4 machine and have a look. It might take some time though as my 10.4 machine is an old G3 iBook and given its mothers day today I've got more important things to be attending to. I'll see what I can do. I suspect the error is a something todo with some default setting requiring 10.5 .. It'd be useful if you could open console.app, select the system log, clear the view, open Logic, pop the AU in and open the GUI and send my any output you get. Also tell me how far you get before you see the error, that should give me an idea if its a GUI or compile issue. As an aside it turns out other hosts don't support Cocoa custom views so I might be making a basic Carbon view soon. Cheers Rich 2.0 Seems to work fine for me on my PPC 10.4.11.... So I just switched the rec. Files from 2.1 to the files for 2.0..... Looks better and passes AU verification. MountainStorm Notes v2.0.11.zip Notes 2.0 with Updated GUI Rec. File from 2.1 !!!WORKS WITH ANY 10.4.X SYSTEM NOTES 2.0 PASSES!!! LOOKS BETTER

mobi
Logic 802OSX 10.5.3 intel iMac 2.8ghz 2gb I'm not getting past AU Validation on either 2.0 or 2.1, any ideas? read the install instructions, you probably missed the framework... btw.. this it's a great concept, but maybe adding a export import functions..... just in case you have to send your project to other studios, etc

camillo jr
I'm not feeling the joy just yet.... it won't keep my notes in the right hand pane and there's no controls at the top Like I see in muse's post. Maybe it won't work in L7?? This is version 2.0.11 from EDDSkitz's post. Can any post the newer version? It might work better for me on 10.5.5. EDIT: I just found MountainStorm's site; he has a download for version 2.1. Click the AudioNotes link. The notes do stay in the right hand pane now but I still don't have any of the upper part of the GUI above the notes section..... just the standard AU header. Is there a way of turning that on that I can't see? And it just froze Logic. Damn! This was looking very promising.
ronny
unfortunately i had to uninstall as it threw logic right out of whack for some reason and couldn't get the latest to download Great idea though.
