cforlong
Patch > Channel Strip Setting > Audio Unit > Preset There needs to be a better /more consistent way to catalog, display and select these items. Currently, and as long as I can remember , at the Audio Unit (Instrument &FX) level, the user has to navigate through finger cramping drop-down menus to reach the desired tool. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65969526/dropDown.jpg I think the answer is to utilize the Library pane for ALL of these objects. And within such, the user should be able to do some of their own cataloging. NB: I don't see any need to separate Apple Objects from 3rd party Audio Units. I'm not sure what the complete solution is ... I'll leave that to the Apple UI team. But I think there is agreement that this needs an overhaul. On a related matter .... Regarding Patches and Channel Strip Settings, It would be of great value to be able to preview 'What's in it'. Maybe something along the lines as we have with project preview, OSX's 'Quick Look' feature , but at the specific level. The user could see aux's, effects, instruments …. all in an image. It would just be a framed drawing like this : http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65969526/QuicView.jpg
