anp27
Ok... Got it... Thanx for your replies guys! However, it wasn't below the Vintage Mellotron as mentioned in the documentation, but way down below, among my customized library entries... Well, perhaps I have too many of them! vincentzaalberg
Okay sorry This thread has been linked as the disappearing playhead discussion. So I’d thought I’d mention it’s not limited to 10.6.

vincentzaalberg
It’s an 2011 iMac on OS High Sierra. It works again after restarting. But my point was the disappearing playhead issue is not only in Logic 10.6. Edited November 30, 2020 by vincentzaalberg

Dewdman42
I seem to notice that 10.6 seems to have removed the ability to float the mouse pointer over a plugin button to see the latency being reported by that particular plugin. Is anyone else getting this same behavior? I am working off a fresh install of Catalina so maybe its a preference I need to set that I have forgotten about, I'm not sure...but anyway...it doesn't seem to be working for me now. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this or knows a way to find out that info?

It seems to be working here? Make sure Low Latency Mode is on?
Dewdman42
I never use LLM and it always showed the pop up before regardless. I just tried turning on LLM and still no pop up. Is there any other setting you can think of that might effect this?
David Nahmani
I never use LLM and it always showed the pop up before regardless. Actually you're right, you don't need LLM. I'm not sure why you're not seeing it.

Dewdman42
David do you know if there is any other way in LogicPro to get any report anywhere showing which plugins are reporting latency and how much they are reporting?

I don't know what happened but at one point the hover-for-latency started working. I noticed that it didn't when i first installed everything
Dewdman42
Interesting. I wonder what needs to happen to get it to turn on?
skijumptoes
Are you getting tooltips on other items if you hover your mouse over them?
Dewdman42
I'm not sure. I don't remember ever seeing tooltips in LogicPro...how can I verify that? Or are you meaning in a more general sense? Now I'm wondering if there is a System Preference that is somehow turned off for tooltips that is effecting LogicPro.....
Dewdman42
you may be on to something. when I hover the mouse over buttons on the top toolbar....there are no tooltips...and I think those should be working too...
skijumptoes
Yeah, that's the kind of thing i meant. So, it could be a display issue you're having. Perhaps this is a metal compatibility thing? Really not sure - just throwing ideas. :-/
Dewdman42
I have metal GPU. rx580. I doubt that is it. I am looking all over in system prefs, can't find anything about tool tips, but since you mentioned that, I'm not getting any tool tips in any applications! I can't remember now if they were before in Mojave..I think so. I can dual boot back to Mojave later and try that out to make sure. But anyway, I just don't see any tool tips of any kind now.
