Is it possible to extract midi from the chords grid library?

Hi, I often use alternative tunings on my guitar, which can slow down identifying note names, when working in logic.

I am easily able to create custom tunings and chords in the chord grids library, however I am unable to extract the midi and use those chords on the piano roll, to assign to different instruments. Am I missing something really simple? 

I have tried adding the chords into the score tab, but again it doesn't seem to generate the midi note information. It does however add a visual of the sharps into the midi region, as seen in the picture.
