Mavros
On M1 bases Macs the text search box in the new browser does not work. You cannot enter any text. If you point to the box with your poiting device, the program focus remains in Logic and all text entry is interpreted as a key command. This is a continuing topic maybe linked with other text input related threads I have seen. Reboot does not work. Copy paste of a text neither. Some people have reported that resizing the Kontakt 7 popup has something to do with it but I was not able to make it work in the default size state. It is reported at the Native Instruments forum as well but since probably a year nothing is happening on either site. « NI is tallking to Appl » it says in one thread. Does anyone have a workaround or solution? You can of course work in Rosetta mode as there Kontakt 7 works correct (although a bit slow to load) but that is today not really an option anymore. The bug is specific to Logic as the search box works correctly in Cubase and Dorico. It makes the new Kontakt 7 features enabling you to find a particular instrument in all your Kontakt contents rather useless. 1
sunbrother
I’m pretty sure it happens when the window is resized. The reason some Native Instruments plugins do this without the user resizing is some of them auto resize every time you open them… Edited September 1, 2023 by sunbrother
sunbrother
Looks like this is a macOS bug that not everyone can concoct a workaround for. https://forum.juce.com/t/bug-m1-apple-silicon-keyboard-focus-lost-permanently-in-logic-when-plugin-is-resized/51292 It’s almost as if the macOS team is not trying to minimize how many things they break. Mavros
Yes the button with the three vertical lines has been replaced with a text menu and now search text can be entered in the library view. Now they still have to solve the same issue in the new Guitar Rig Pro 7. The same button with three vertical lines switches between the search and rack view. Once a switch to rack and back to search using this button has been made the search block activates logic key commands instead of text as previously in Kontakt.
