I see the signal, Logic records the signal, but I can't hear the signal until I play it back.

I'm recording a guitar into Logic through an Element 24, as I always do. 

I see the signal, it records the signal, but I can't hear the signal, until I play it back.  

I record all the time and haven't had this issue before.  I've been working in older sessions transferred from Logic 9, would they have changed a setting or something?  Its happening in all sessions. 

EDIT:

The signal isn't running through the plugins in real time.  Guitar Rig's tuner doesn't see the signal.  But Logic's tuner at the top of the session sees the signal.

Did you turn off Software Monitoring by accident?

Yes it sounds like software monitoring is off in your preferences? Here what they should look like:
