jhblaeser24
Hi everyone, I am considering updating my current Logic 10.6.0 to the new 10.7.5. This would require me to update MacOS from 10.15.4 Catalina to the recently released Ventura. (System details attached) 1. What are specific precautionary measures I should take before updating? 2. Do I risk losing functionality of my 2020 Magic Keyboard & 2018 Magic Trackpad in the update? I have access to Time Machine, Backblaze & Dropbox, & have also confirmed that my essential 3rd-party plugins will survive. Great thanks to those who can lend a hand, Joel
des99
You should be fine I think, but either backup your system drive first (so you can easily go back if something doesn't work out), or install to a test external drive to check compatibility, so you keep your existing system intact. You hardware devices should still work fine.
jhblaeser24
Awesome! How would you personally go about: 1. Backing up the system drive and 2. Doing a test install? Unfamiliar with making the update leap so specifics really help. Thanks!
des99
1 I use SuperDuper 2 Connect a hard drive and install MacOS on it, or clone your existing backup onto it, then boot from it.
