audio (vocal) track not sounding with varispeed adjustment

Hi,

I am using MacBook Pro 2019, 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, running Mac OS Sonoma 14, Logic Pro 10.7.9

I am having an issue with varispeed. When I speed or slow my project almost everything works well except for my vocal tracks. When I press the plus button they no longer sound and when I press the minus button the sound returns. This also happens on one guitar track but not the several other audio track in my project.

I have tried re-recording the vocal track with Varispeed on and I have tried with a new project containing one vocal track - the also do not sound.

I hope that this in an easy fix from someone on the forum. I attach a picture of the project with some of the non working tracks

I wonder if the audio tracks need to be Flex-enabled… (which doesn’t seem to be the case according to your picture.

I tried flex enabling but no joy unfortunately. I will just have to use in a different way unless anybody else has tried this with 10.7.9

Also other audio tracks worked fine with Varispeed and they were not flexed either.

I would try converting (a copy of) your vocal audio recording into an Apple Loop. I have the feeling that should work.

Varispeed on vocals always gives me crazy pops. Have never been able to use it - usually rely on global tempo. I have not in years been able to solve this.
