anti-banausic
SoundProof, Is that an Iomega external HD? I was going to pick one of those up, but was wondering about quality vs. LaCie and others. Thanks. AB My studio sucks. I will try to get a pic though. pantomimeHorse
In stark contrast to all this Californian shiny metal and lebensraum, in dear old Ireland, we still use a lot of wood, and it's like working in an elevator car from the 1930's ................ - - http://www.kbodance.com/studio.jpg - C

marcel72
The door on the right is to an iso booth. The live room (small, but good for some room sound) is down the hall. Cool thread.

marcel72
Hey, I'm a renter, what can I say... The lava lamp, however, is the hallmark of any great studio.
fazmanicg
Here is my playroom. If you look in the corner, you will find my Lava lamp. They are very important in getting the creative juices to flow! The space in front of the Axiom will house my MC Control when it arrives, and the Presonus FP10 will be replaced with the MOTU 828MK3. pantomimeHorse
I adore that "in-the-wall" racking, fazmanicg ! Are you some kind of a builder ? That is way cool. - C
fazmanicg
Thanks! On the other side of that built-in rack is a closet. It's real easy to get to the back of the rack when needed. Before going digital with Logic, That whole rack was stuffed with sound modules, etc. I also got rid of my 32 channel mixer. Lots more room now! BTW - I am not a builder, but i do dabble in woodworking quite a bit. I built the basement from scratch, and am pleased with the way it turned out. pantomimeHorse
...... On the other side of that built-in rack is a closet. It's real easy to get to the back of the rack when needed ......... - Depends whose closet it is, I guess. I presume you don't have to burrow through a lady neighbour's frilly things every time you need to flip an input from -10 to +4 ........... ? - - C
marcel72
Hey, am I the only guy left with an analogue desk, or what? You kids with your fancy streamlined ITB rigs... When I was your age, we had to patch with a soldering iron...
fazmanicg
Now That's funny !!!!! No, It's only a storage closet.
pantomimeHorse
Hey, am I the only guy left with an analogue desk, or what? - No. If you look closely at my desk shot, you will detect the seductive outline of a Soundcraft Folio16, which comes in handy for all manner of things. The cable entries are hidden behind the removable panel and it is fully wired to a balanced Neutrik jackfield on top of my main rack (out of shot) ! When I was your age, we had to patch with a soldering iron... - Ah, but I DID wire the entire studio myself so I've no-one I can blame for any hum loops ! - C

David Nahmani
Nikki, why did you put all these pictures of Guitar Center walls on your website? Kidding, but ... WHAT A COLLECTION!
SoundProof Studios
SoundProof, Is that an Iomega external HD? I was going to pick one of those up, but was wondering about quality vs. LaCie and others. Yes it is an Iomega ext HD... Its not too bad but I have been running it USB and I've had 2 or 3 HD errors... I am going to try and run it Firewire and see if that helps it run smoother... If not than I'll to be purchasing a Lacie also..
