johnno
ifish, nice! - Are you using your Roland elec. drum kit with Logic? if so, how? - I use AD and am having a difficult time getting the maps right. frustrating. I'm using EZdrummer without any problems. I love that little roland HD1 kit, and very tempted to make the purchase myself. It's reassuring to know that it works nicely with EZ-Drummer. Next christmas, maybe...... Also, Leah, what model is that Dell screen? It seems to complement the (24"??) imac nicely. The christmas after, maybe..... druu
hey druu! how is that control surface working for you?? i keep looking at it everytime i go to guitar center!! You mean the BCF2000? I love it. I've had it for a few years now and initially ran it in Mackie Emulation mode when I was running Ableton Live. Now I run it as a Logic Control under Logic and it works just as well. Awesome for mixing, etc though I really only use the knobs for panning but transport controls are all there, scrubbing, etc. Well worth the purchase, they're so darn cheap! HwyStar
Noooo Buddy expects the Spanish Inquisition... Sit in the comfy chair old woman! Stick her with a pillow... Man are we dating ourselves? I knew that picture as soon as I saw it. Well done! And now for something completely different... Back to your regularly scheduled DAW program... It helps to get up every 30-40 minutes or so. Long times with a compressed back will cause mayhem with the discs. Especially when you are older. Kent Sandvik
Here's a snapshot I took today of my current home studio setup for standing work. http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/211/dsc0081za.jpg It seems my studio changes month by month. Anyway, in case someone else is inspired to make a 'medieval' standing position studio*). *) Medieval scribes worked standing up. The idea of sitting down at a desk is a new idea. maeghan
Seadragon ... very very nice. how do you like the axiom pro? i have the original axiom in the LE yellow. I just wish they would come out with an 88 key version. How is the action on the pro?

uhdinator
With a 88 Key Motif at your finger tips I would use that instead of a controller if it were my choice but I also have midi I/O on the MOTU interface. I see a lot of monitors at waist level or right next to the monitor screen a foot from your face. Don't know how you all hear anything. I had to get stands so the monitors are at ear level and get them out further from my face. Although I understand a lot of us don't always have the space we would like. biff_larken
Oh man, in about a month's time, I'm going to have my studio ready. I just got funding to actually start my post-production/score composing company. Just have to sign some papers, wait for some stuff in the mail, and the loan is mine! They don't compare to the Motif ES of course, but they seem to hold up well.

I use the Motif a lot, but I wanted something right in front of me as I tweak the sounds in Logic. I just find it really convenient. Those monitors are actually at a height where the tweeters are at the same level as my ears when I am seated in front of the desk. I'm really impressed with the HS-80s too.
