skijumptoes
Unless my memory is fading, Those lines are just showing what focus the current control surface has isn't it? i.e. if you had an 8 channel Mackie hooked up, depending on the colour it would show a bar down 8 tracks with focus. If you have no surface setup, perhaps you get nothing?

If you have no surface setup, perhaps you get nothing? Oh yes that orange line on Fisherking's screen capture, that's what it is, correct, a "Control Surface Bar". I thought we were talking about the red vertical line you get when trying to insert a chord in the Chord editor in the Piano Roll:
Ploki
A project that was glitching and causing overloads on 10.5.1 just yesterday is working muuuch more smoothly on 10.6 Better than 10.5.

David Nahmani
That little jump in the UI makes it even more intriguing! I've been desperately trying to pull on the lower edge of the thin semi-hidden global chord track for hours to no avail.

fisherking
funny about the orange line; i have an akai lpd8 (drum pads & knobs), have been using it for some time. but that bar has NEVER shown up until i updated to 10.6. a quirk, perhaps... (that it never showed before)

fisherking
i can't figure out the chord track either (i have a meeting in a week, so will hunt for it until then). seriously, tho, i think i should leave it on, since all my songs do, in fact, use chords... des99
Found the chord track Jon, thanks! Not sure what it is... another mystery! "Hey Rob? You know that chord feature you started working on last week that was scheduled for the January release..? Yeah... um, it just shipped in 10.6.0. Sorry - my bad! So we, like, need you to finish it, like, today..."
David Nahmani
Oh I just noticed it's no longer Logic Pro X ? Now it's back to Logic Pro. Hmmm... time to rename this forum!

des99
Oh I just noticed it's no longer Logic Pro X ? Now it's back to Logic Pro. Hmmm... time to rename this forum! Same with Final Cut, yes. It seems Apple is moving away from the "X" now "OSX" has become "MacOS" and it's no longer OS Ten, but OS Eleven.
Multispace
I hope that you can soon edit patterns in the Step Sequencer on the Launchpad, just like you can via the Remote app now on an iPad/iPhone.
ozinga
Did we get some kind of 10.6 beta by mistake? Weird things in this release for sure. Maybe chord track is not supposed to be there until 10.7 I don't know.
David Nahmani
Sampler Zone per Note!! That's a new feature I would have deemed worthy of a mention in the release notes??
Sascha Franck
How is that a bad thing? I already explained it: The bad thing is not supporting an OS any longer that should still be supported, even by Apples questionable "standards" (3 years of support per OS version). As easy as that. Sascha Franck
Seriously, that Chord Track thing... it's gotta be a joke, right? So there's a new, undocumented and buggy feature just crawling in without any of whatever folks in the QA department noticing? Yeah, way to go... It's not like they found a mountain lion on the space shuttle, but yeah, that's a non-ready-for-prime-time feature that must have accidentally creeped in. Thanks! here you go anyone annoyed by new plugin-menu style? what's annoying about it? (no really, am asking).... the contrast is less intense, and it takes up more screen real estate because its bigger i'm sure i'll get used to it, but it's been the old one for so long it caught me off guard
Ploki
as far as OS comments: i've been using Catalina on my studio computer for about two months, and on my laptop since january... Catalina is fine. It works fine. And i dont know if backward compatibility made logic work better, but it does work better here than 10.
Sascha Franck
but yeah, that's a non-ready-for-prime-time feature that must have accidentally creeped in. As said, that's speaking volumes about Apples software quality assurance. Really, it might not harm anyone, but that's nothing that should ever happen in a "Pro" application. Personally, as a pro, an unfinished feature that doesn't have to be turned on creeping into a .0 release is the least of my worries.
