pedals
I recently got a sustain pedal -- Roland DP-10. It works with the built-in Steinway piano instrument, but when I try it with Arturia Piano 2 and some other instruments, it doesn't do anything. Is there a setting somewhere that is required to make it work with all instruments?
Solution Atlas007 Posted November 24, 2023 Solution Share Posted November 24, 2023 Often 3rd party (virtual) instruments (plugin) require to have the proper MIDI channel set to respond to the CC64 MIDI events sent by your sustain pedal. This could be set in the track parameter’s MIDI Output Channel setting.
pedals
Thanks, I don't really understand how that setting works yet, but I changed it from "All" to "1" and it's working now.
Atlas007
IIUW, that parameter will make all recorded events to output on the set "MIDI Out Channel". IOW, if in the regions you have recorded or contain events with MIDI channel 2, others with MIDI channel 3, others with MIDI channel 5, setting "MIDI Out Channel" track parameter from All to 1 will make all those events to be sent as events with MIDI channel 1 (instead of their originally recorded MIDI channels 2, 3 and 5).
